We all know about spray dry shampoos, , but have you ever tried making one yourself? It's a very easy and quick recipe to make, and moreover, it's very economical compared to what you find in stores. With only 3 natural ingredients, you can make your own dry shampoo.

Commonly used in dry shampoo recipes, white clay is an ingredient that has many beneficial properties for hair. It helps to absorb excess sebum and impurities from the scalp. It also has a soothing action to calm scalp irritations. Lastly, it helps to add volume to the hair, making it lighter and more airy.

Baking soda, on the other hand, will eliminate excess sebum from the hair and scalp to remove the greasy look. It will gently cleanse the hair by removing impurities and unwanted odors.

Tea Tree essential oil has antimicrobial properties and therefore fights against bacteria and fungi that can cause scalp itching or dandruff.

By combining white clay, food-grade baking soda, and Tea Tree essential oil in your homemade dry shampoo, you get a product that absorbs excess sebum, gently cleanses, adds volume, refreshes, soothes the scalp, and leaves a feeling of cleanliness and freshness on your hair.

The advantages of this dry shampoo:

  • Gently cleanses
  • Refreshes
  • Soothes the scalp
  • Antimicrobial action

Ingredients for the recipe:

  • 3 heaping tablespoons of white clay
  • 1 teaspoon of food-grade baking soda
  • 8 drops of Tea Tree essential oil

You can also replace Tea Tree with Lavender, which will soothe your scalp.

Steps:

  • Place the clay and baking soda directly into the jar and mix.
  • Add the drops of Tea Tree essential oil.
  • Mix again until the mixture is well homogeneous.
  • Your dry shampoo is ready.

Using the dry shampoo:

To use your homemade dry shampoo, use a makeup brush to take a little powder. Shake the brush to remove excess and apply it to your roots. Leave it on for a few minutes to allow the powder to absorb excess sebum. Finally, brush your hair to remove the powder.

Your hair will then look cleaner and fresher.

Your dry shampoo will last for a few months in an airtight jar in a dry place away from moisture. We recommend using it a maximum of once a week.
