Aronia berries, Cindy, are part of the superfood category due to their numerous health benefits. To do this, we decided to prepare them as smoothies. This recipe will be ideal in the morning to stock up on energy or as an afternoon snack.
What are aronia berries?
These little berries are real treasures of antioxidants straight from North America. They are one of the highly pigmented fruits that are very rich in antioxidants, also called anthocyanins. They are also found in blackberries, blueberries and even cherries, but their content is much higher in aronia berries. These pigments therefore have excellent anti-inflammatory properties. These berries also contain substances favorable to the cardiovascular system.
Ingredients for the recipe:
- 1 banana
- 1 handful of dried aronia berries
- 20 cl of milk or vegetable milk
- 1 glass of frozen red fruits
You can use whatever milk suits you and you can even make your own plant-based milk .
Steps :
- First, immerse the aronia berries in water for 30 minutes to rehydrate them (they will mix more easily).
- Place all the ingredients in the blender and mix until the mixture is smooth.
- Your smoothie is ready to enjoy.
If you find your smoothie too thick, you can add milk.
