Stop plastic
In 2021 in France, around 1.5 million disposable plastic bottles are used every hour, which represents 36 million bottles per day.
This figure is overwhelming.
On average, a French person will consume 180 single-use plastic bottles per year.
Even though more and more brands are switching to recycled plastic, it is still not enough.
My green solution
For a few years now, I no longer buy plastic water bottles.
I now buy activated charcoals that I put in my water jugs. The principle is simple, you immerse this charcoal in your carafe and after an hour the taste of your water is better.
It may seem strange to you to use charcoal to purify your water, but this principle has already been well known to the Japanese for centuries.
Indeed, Binchotan is an activated carbon obtained from tree branches. It is well known for softening water, adding minerals, and removing unwanted tastes. The lifespan of these coals is 6 months (you will have to boil them for 10min after 3 months). At the end of these 6 months, this charcoal can be used as soil in your plants or as a deodorant in a pair of shoes.
There is also French vegetable bamboo charcoal (which we have decided to offer you on our site). The principle is the same as Binchotan except that the charcoal comes from bamboo and not from wood. It is the 1st European artisanal pyrolysis of bamboo.
On average, a charcoal costs between 9 and 10 € and you will have 6 months of bottled water. This saves you 90 plastic bottles per person.
Of course, it's not just these coals for filtering your water. There are many others ...
Now it's up to you to make your choice.
