The sunny days are back Cindy, and the desire to eat delicious salads too. This week, we wanted to offer you a healthy recipe: that of the poke bowl. It is a complete meal which consists of a cereal, a legume, various vegetables, an oilseed, various seeds, proteins (vegetable or animal) and a sauce.
Where does the poke bowl come from?
The poké bowl or poke bowl is a traditional Hawaiian dish made with rice, marinated raw fish and fresh vegetables. The word "poké" means "dice" in Hawaiian in reference to how the fish is cut in the dish. The poké bowl has grown in popularity in recent years and is a complete, tasty and healthy dish. This very colorful recipe now comes in a thousand and one ways.
Ingredients for the recipe:
- 1 piece of white rice
- 1 slice of cucumber
- 1 part grated carrots
- 1 slice of avocado
- 1 part red onion
- 1 part of minced chicken
- 1 part radish
- 1 part red beans
- Sweet or salty soy sauce
- Krush salad mix!
- House dressing
For quantities, adapt to the size of your plate or your appetite.
Steps :
- Cook rice and kidney beans as directed on package.
- Meanwhile, pan-fry your sliced chicken. Once cooked, add a little soy sauce.
- Grate the carrots and chop the onion.
- Slice radishes and avocado.
- Cut the cucumber into strips and roll them.
- Distribute the ingredients on a plate, alternating colors to make your plate harmonious. (Wait until the rice, red beans and chicken are cold before placing them on the plate).
- Pour the dressing over the ingredients and sprinkle the seeds of the salad mix on top.
We chose to divide our ingredients into 8 parts on the plate. You can also put the rice in the bottom of the plate and put the other ingredients on top.
