White vinegar is one of the most famous ecological cleaning products. Thanks to its many descaling, degreasing, disinfecting and deodorizing properties, it is one of the essentials of ecological drugstores.
But have you ever heard of Cindy vinegar gel? This cleaning product retains the same properties as liquid vinegar but will greatly facilitate its use. This natural and biodegradable cleaner will allow you to clean, descale and deodorize your surfaces.
To make this recipe, you can reuse an old bottle of toilet cleaner, for example. But if you don't have one, we offer you one on the site.
Why use vinegar gel instead of liquid vinegar?
Vinegar gel is interesting to use on vertical surfaces such as shower walls, faucets or toilet bowls. Thanks to its thicker texture, the vinegar gel will adhere better to the walls. In addition, it helps to control the amount used. As it is applied more precisely, it avoids overflows or drips. Finally, it will have a much less strong smell than vinegar alone, which makes it more pleasant to use.
Ingredients for the recipe:
- 300ml white vinegar
- 200ml water
- 5 to 8 grams xanthan gum
You can add a few drops of essential oil if you wish ( lemon or Tea Tree for example).
Steps :
- Boil the water in a saucepan.
- Add the xanthan gum and mix with a whisk for a few moments.
- Off the heat, add the vinegar and mix again.
- Pour the preparation into an old bottle of toilet cleaner or a 500 ml pump bottle.
- Wait a little until the preparation is well gelled.
- The vinegar gel is ready to use!
You can mix the preparation using an immersion blender if the xanthan gum is not completely dissolved.
