8% alcohol vinegar

Alcohol vinegar or white vinegar is a essential in our kitchen. It is traditionally used for food use but it also works wonders as a household product. It is a basic product, inexpensive and non-toxic to the man and the environment.

This alcohol vinegar is made in France by natural alcohol fermentation of vegetable raw materials from organic farming. It contains 8% acetic acid. This is the only concentration authorized in food. 12% or 14% vinegars, for example, are more concentrated and are therefore only used for cleaning with certain precautions to be taken.

Cooking uses

If you're wondering how to use white vinegar in the kitchen, here are some of its uses:

  • Food preservative: to make vegetable pickles for example.
  • Wash your salad: put a little vinegar in the first wash water. Leave to soak then rinse with clear water.
  • Marinate your meat: mix 1 tablespoon of vinegar, 1 tablespoon of oil and the spices you want.

Home Uses

For home maintenance, it is one of the basic products that make up most cleaning and descaling recipes.

  • Degreaser: If you need to clean greasy and dirty dishes, add a glass of white vinegar to your dishwasher. In addition to that, it will make your dishes shine and will serve as an anti-limescale agent.
  • Air freshener: To avoid bad odors in your pipes, pour a glass of white vinegar into your pipes (sinks, washbasins) from time to time, then run a little water.
  • Descaler: For your kettles and coffee makers, boil vinegar mixed with water. Rinse 2 to 3 times with clean water afterwards. For showerheads, soak in a bowl of vinegar to remove limescale deposits.
  • Softener for linen: Add a little white vinegar to the compartment of your washing machine, it will replace the softeners sold in supermarkets.
  • Clean windows: For sparkling windows, mix 3/4 liter of water and 1/4 of vinegar in a spray bottle.
  • Anti-stain: To remove stains from ink, coffee, wine, grass, etc., rub with a cloth soaked in vinegar then put in the washing machine.
  • Color fixer: Soak your cotton clothes in a basin of lukewarm water with 2 glasses of vinegar.
