A bit of culture:
The niaouli is a tree up to 25m high native to Australia and New Caledonia from the Myrtaceae family. The first to use this plant were the Kanaks, an indigenous population of New Caledonia, who quickly understood that it had many virtues.
The niaouli has a particular bark in the form of fairly soft superimposed layers that can be easily removed (like wallpaper). This has earned it nicknames such as "paperback tea tree" or "skin tree".
The essential oil is extracted from the leaves of this tree. Its yield is low and for a 10ml bottle you need 1.5kg of plant.
