A little culture :

The lemon eucalyptus is a tree that can measure 50 meters high and can live up to 500 years and has very fragrant leaves . This tree was discovered in Australia in the 18th century and its wood is used to make houses and even boats, but it is most used for its lemony scent .

There are different varieties of eucalyptus: radiate, globular, lemon… and each of these essential oils will have different properties. Lemon eucalyptus is the only essential oil in this family that does not contain eucalyptol and will therefore not have the expectorant properties of radiate or globular eucalyptus. It is an essential oil that will be particularly appreciated by athletes thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties.

We obtain 10 ml of essential oil by distilling 1 kg of leaves.

Main properties:

Due to its composition, lemon eucalyptus essential oil will be ideal for relieving joint and muscle pain (tendinitis, contracture, sprain, etc.), lower back pain but also rheumatism (osteoarthritis, arthritis). It will also have a calming and relaxing effect thanks to its citronellal content. It will also be a good repellent against insects, especially mosquitoes, and will even relieve their bites.

Possible ways of use :

	Skin contact : To be diluted to 20% in vegetable oil. This is the most used route.
	Ingestion : To be diluted on a neutral support (honey, vegetable oil, neutral tablet)
	Diffusion : Possible route but it is preferable to dilute it with other essential oils.
	Inhalation : Possible path

Precautions for use:

Keep out of reach of children. Do not use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Do not use in children under 3 years of age.

This EO is irritating to the skin, so it must always be diluted to 20% in a vegetable oil. Due to the presence of allergens, it is preferable to do a test before using it (1 to 2 drops in the crook of the elbow and wait 24 hours until there is no reaction).

Lemon eucalyptus essential oil can be used in cooking but it must be absolutely diluted (1 drop for 1kg of foodstuff). Do not ingest it pure.

Store essential oils in a dry, cool place, away from light. Make sure the bottle is always tightly closed.
