What is mate?

Mate is an ancestral drink that is prepared in a calabash and drunk using a bombilla (filtering metal straw). The taste of mate is between tea and coffee. Green mate has a very balanced taste and less bitter than other mates. It is known to promote concentration and helps to stay in shape throughout the day. It is also said to boost digestion, which is why mate can be consumed after a meal to aid digestion.
